Dr. Margaret Cohen’s academic training is in Hebrew Bible, and her archaeological training comes from more than twenty years of excavations in Israel, Jordan and Egypt. Margaret taught in both large research and small liberal arts settings and has a deep appreciation for and interest in the many forms of the student experience. She publishes on material culture, particularly figurines and other realia from Tell Megiddo and various archaeological excavations. Her most recent research deals with foodways in the biblical world and she is active in promoting scholarship on this topic by serving the relevant units in major guild organizations. Prior to moving to Tucson, Margaret lived on the campus of the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem.
