Judaic Studies at Tucson Meet Yourself! This year, for the first time, Judaic Studies had a booth at Tucson Meet Yourself, an annual festival celebrating folk life and culture in downtown Tucson. Our booth featured Hebrew calligraphy displays and an archarological dig for kids to enjoy. Dr. Asher Susser Delivers Popular Lecture on Rational Conflict Management in Israel and Palestine On Wednesday, September 10, Dr. Asher Susser lectured to a packed room at the UA Hillel Foundation. Dr. Beth Alpert Nakhai Develops Survey to Increase Safety on Digs Beth Alpert Nakhai, Associate Professor of Judaic Studies, is hoping to improve safety for everyone on archaeological digs in the Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin. Dr. Asher Susser returns to UA Asher Susser, Ph.D., has returned to the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies, taking up an invitation extended to him when he was a visiting professor in Modern Israel Studies in 2010-2011. Susser, who’s on sabbatical from Tel Aviv University for the fall semester, will be teaching an undergraduate course on modern Israel and a graduate course on the history and historiography of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
