Reading Corner – David Graizbord
I am on Sabbatical in Jerusalem at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS). There, I co-head a Research Group on "New Christian (converso) and New Jewish Discourses of Identity: Between Polemics and Apologetics." The Group hosts a weekly seminar featuring scholars from Israel and many other countries. The seminar held its first international conference at Bar-Ilan University on December 18, 2022, and will conclude the year with another international conference, on June 14-15, 2023.
In addition, I am completing two books that I am co-editing, and to which I am contributing articles. The first book is entitled Early Modern Jewish Civilization: Unity and Diversity in a Diasporic Society. An Introduction (Routledge; forthcoming in 2023-2024). The second book is entitled Religious and Cultural Encounters in Medieval Sefarad and the Early Modern Sephardic World: A Tribute to Moisés Orfali (Brill; forthcoming in 2023-2024).
