Simon Henderson discussing Jamal Khashoggi murder

Postmortem, Jamal Khashoggi has been named ‘Man of the Year’ by Time Magazine. In September of this year, very few people could have named him, but after his brutal murder in the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul he has become the icon of suppressed speech and the attack on the press. On Thursday, December 20th at 11am MST, Simon Henderson will discuss the Khashoggi murder and its political ramifications in the Middle East via live-streaming on Facebook and YouTube through The Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.

Simon Henderson is the Baker fellow at The Washington Institute and director of the Institute's Bernstein Program on Gulf and Energy Policy, specializing in energy matters and the conservative Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Henderson has written extensively on Khashoggi's death for multiple news outlets as well as for the Washington Institute. He was a friend of Jamal Khashoggi.
