Intermediate Modern Hebrew - JUS 203A & 203B

JUS203A is the first course of a full year of Intermediate Modern Hebrew. It is a five credit course. It is offered only in fall semesters. The course emphasizes all facets of the language – listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and, builds upon the completion of Elementary Modern Hebrew courses (JUS103A, JUS103B).  In JUS203A, students will enhance their knowledge of grammar and complex sentence structures. Students will read advanced texts, write short essays and conduct meaningful intermediate-level conversations. Students will participate in an online project and communicate with students from other universities in the target language. In order to register for JUS203A, students must receive a grade of ‘C’ or higher in JUS103B, or obtain permission from the instructor.

JUS203B is the second course of a full year of Intermediate Modern Hebrew. It is a five credit course. It is offered only in Spring semesters. The course covers all facets of the language – listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It builds upon the skills acquired in Elementary Modern Hebrew courses and the first course of Intermediate Hebrew.  In JUS203B students will enhance their knowledge of additional verb groups and their usage in all tenses.  Students of JUS203B read and discuss advanced-level texts, and compose analytical essays. They will conduct meaningful intermediate-level verbal discussions. Students will participate in an online project and communicate with students from other universities in the target language. Successful completion of JUS203A (a grade of ‘C’ or above), is prerequisite for enrollment in this course.
