Apocalypitc Politics

Divisive politics, social unrest, climate change, wars and rumors of wars—it sounds as if the world is unraveling. In this presentation Wright will explore how and why apocalyptic themes and motifs appear during times of socio-economic and political upheaval. Using examples from ancient and modern societies, he will explain the power of apocalyptic ideologies in both arousing people to action and assuaging people's fears for themselves and their society.
