Please join the UA Honors College, Center for Creative Photography and Center for Judaic Studies for a screening of Different Drummers, a documentary that follows several Israeli peacemakers who provoke others to join their voices for peace and justice. Considered heroes by some and traitors by others, these individuals struggle daily in what seems to the Western world a 50-year-old conflict impossible to resolve. Despite the atmosphere of “terror” that hovers over both Palestine and Israel, there are Israeli voices heard over the din that cry out for a just and lasting peace.
Appy Chandler, field producer for the film, will introduce the film, and Leonard Hammer , visiting professor of Modern Israeli Studies at the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies, will provide modern-day context after the screening.
A Q&A with both presenters will follow.
