JUS 372a History and Religion of Ancient Israel: The Biblical Period

Honors section available.

Through reading and class lectures, students will study topics including creation myths in Israel and neighboring countries, the traditions about Israel’s founding matriarchs and patriarchs, the emergence of Israel in Syria-Palestine, the archaeology of Israel. The diversity of Israelite religion, and the history of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah.

Approved as General Education Tier II  Humanities & General Education Diversity Emphasis.
